FreeBSD The FreeBSD Release Engineering Team is pleased to announce the availability of FreeBSD 8.2-RELEASE. Yeah, deduplication is the main feature I want, but also the encryption support in v30.

You can set up encryption already with GELI on FreeBSD 8.2 with ZFSwhich may be even more efficient since it uses hardware crypto FreeBSD framerowk and uses crypto hardware (like AES accelration in recent Intel CPUs).

... and even if You do not have hardware accelration for crypto, You can still use as many threads as You like for GELI.
