What's your source on the HTML5 thing and the InternetWorks thing?
Basic knowledge which anyone who has paid attention will possess.
This is really all besides the point because we're still essentially talking about influencing other Web Browsers. Not the Web. The Web is only influenced by Web Browsers with significant market share.
No, we are talking about HTML and CSS. Can't get any more fundamental to the web than that.

Nope. It started at Opera. It wasn't called HTML5 then, and the scope was smaller. But it started at Opera, and Mozilla joined shortly after.
Nope. InternetWorks had tabs before Netcaptor.
