Until there is better access to open drivers and a willingness from manufacturers to actually use them; Android is the best of the bunch.
I used to think that free software was enough for everyone. But as long as companies like Nvidia et al release binary/proprietary only hardware drivers, things like replicant (http://replicant.us/) are facing a real uphill battle.
