Google Once upon a time, in a land, far, far away, there were two mobile operating systems. One of them was designed for mobile from the ground up; the other was trying really hard to copy its older, desktop brother. One was limited in functionality, inflexible and lacked multitasking, but was very efficient, fast, and easy to use. The other had everything and the kitchen sink, was very flexible and could multitask, but had a steep learning curve, was inconsistent, and not particularly pretty.

If you compare the UI's of say the Spotify, eBay and Tumblr apps on iOS and Android then you can see the consistency difference, the iOS apps are very consistent whereas the Android apps look like hack jobs. The anything will do sort of attitude. Anyway I recommend that you try the MIUI Rom on your SGS II its very well designed and all the defualt apps except the market (and clock if I remember correctly) are rewritten and redesigned from scratch and are very consistent. Even if you don't like the iOS-like interface on MIUI you can use a third party launcher like Launcher Pro and still enjoy the awesome applications that are put together by the MIUI team. for the English version.

I've thought about Miui, but the problem I have is that it can't synch Facebook contacts with your regular contacts. Is that still true?
