General Development This is a call out for help on creating a consistent and native feeling on Mac OS X and Linux. As I have never owned a Mac and haven't used Linux as my main OS for over 3 years I need the community of OSNews to help me do this.

Well the bottom pane is just like in Explorer. It's details about the stuff you have currently selected. In the stable version that is out right now we only show a single file. In alpha we have added the ability to see a summary of all selected tracks. I plan on adding details for when selecting a playlist, youtube or anything else in the left hand navigation tree.

So the bottom pane is actually supposed to be exactly the same as it is in Explorer. Which will make it hard to put the playback buttons and current playing song info there.

I guess I put playback at top because I had been a heavy user of Amarok before I went to Win7 and found myself missing a great music player. ;)

I can see what you mean. But still a little inconsistency though, for example, when we select one song that's not playing and move to the "Now Playing" link, the bottom pane still details the selected music. Shouldn't it details the currently playing music?

It's not? I just fired Stoffi up and the close button is red there as well. Unless the window loses focus, then it becomes transparent (just like minimize and maximize/restore), but that is consistent with all the other apps as well. In fact, I'm not touching those buttons, they are handled by .NET (and in extension by DWM I believe, someone could correct me on this).

Well, my bad. I forgot that I just turned off focus follows mouse, so I didn't notice that the window is not active when I see it.

I'll take any help I can get. There's always a need for anything from programming and design to translation and promotion. And my policy is that people work as much or as little they want, with what they want and for as long as they want, be it a day, a week or a year.

If you want to contribute you can send me a message. ;)

For now I don't have the time, but I'll try to find some time to contribute, and then I'll contact you for sure. I'm looking forward for the time ;)
