Apple Apple has announced an iPad event for March 7 - iPad 3, obviously. The invitation clearly shows a high-resolution display, and some argue it's missing a home button (we'll see). If this really has a 2048x1536 resolution... What do you mean, leap-frogging the 'competition'. So, anybody want to buy a relatively pristine iPad 2 with grey smart cover? Comes with the box and warranty and everything?

And those of us who got an iPad 2 for Christmas are pissed.

Why?

Not like your iPad 2 suddenly stops working when the iPad 3 comes out.

Do you complain every time a new computer, car or TV comes out?

No, because the newer models of TVs and cars usually only have minimal improvements, whereas these tablets are a big step up every time one comes out. The iPad 3 will probably have a much better display, and twice the amount of cores and RAM, and who knows what else. If you're planning on running games and/or softsynths on it, you need all the horse power you can get ;) I mean, this ain't like a desktop, where you can run one for 5 years and not really miss much.

Except, none of the release cycle was much of a secret. Not if you pay attention.

If any company were to release all their products at the same time, once a year, it would be commercial suicide. That means, no one is going to be completely happy, so ultimately - tough luck.
