Bash's help command (and probably any other shell that has a help command) is only good for built-in shell features so it's not that good to anyone who doesn't realize they're using a built-in feature of the shell. The shell on windows is similar, has its own help system for built-in features.

Well, when I sit down in front of a Unix terminal now days and type 'help', I at least get a list of commands to try. That wasn't the case when I first started
