Implications will depend greatly on when it appears, too... (and what state the world will be in: resource availability, now also for AIs - how plentiful or maybe war torn in competition for them; enlightened secular or mostly ~theocracies; and so on)

In all, a bit unpredictable - and works of popular fiction tend to be no better than background noise at predicting future.
Asimov books dealing with AI can be even seen as a bit naive - around the time when he was writing them, we already had robots meant solely to kill (ICBMs probably being the most ultimate example), also largely autonomously (Russian Perimetr / Dead Hand system)
