Gnome The future of GNOME - an interesting subject. GNOME 3 has been out and about for a while, and it hasn't exactly been a smashing success. I would agree with your last point about unity except I keep having really irritating performance issues, occasional slowdowns and crashes.

Exactly what happened to me! I had this issue with K/Ubuntu 12.04, so it must be something they did at kernel level or something.

You are right again about the multi-monitor issue too. Gnome 2 started to work really well.
