My point is that the Model T and my Honda are both cars but no one would compare the two and say they are the same other then being both cars.
A PDA and the iPhone both have some of the same features but they would not be compared by normal people.
If you cracked out a iPaq and an iPhone and put them next to each other most people would laugh at the comparison.
I understand your point and I know we are arguing semantics here.
I'm not saying that devices marketed as PDAs have the same features as devices marketed as smartphones, it's just that the way I see it smartphones still fall under the exact definition of a PDA.
Wasn't it because they have a SIM card I'd bet we would still be calling them PDAs.

You can do 10,000 more things but your car and the T are still both cars.
I don't see how the amount of things you can do with a device defines what's a PDA and what's not. Maybe it does, but I just don't see why.
