The limit how many companies can there be is set by the size of the market.
Red Hat has to constantly improve to stay ahead of the competition. They do take some shortcuts though (like keeping their git commit history secret to fight against OEL).
Regarding "your moving to CentOS" remark, it would be interesting if you could quantify your claim.
