You do realise that developers do like getting paid.

Like it or not pretty much all progress in Linux has been paid (either directly or indirectly) by corporations such as Redhat, Oracle, Intel and even Microsoft more recently.

If you don't like corporations I suggest you write your own operating system.

I am well aware developers like to get paid, and they should. That doesn't mean Canonical should act the way it does.
