RE[8]: porn destroys cultures

in reply to "RE[7]: porn destroys cultures"
"other parents won't even know their child has become adicted to porn, so don't try to put all the blame on parents for this.
Oh God no, it can't be the parents fault. That's a terrible idea.
It's their goddamn job to know. In fact, knowing this kind of stuff about your child is the most important job you have. If you didn't know then you failed your child.
(Yes, I'm a parent) "
Thank you! Without that "yes, I'm a parent" closing, your opinion would have been discounted or discarded.
I don't have children, but I know a damn lot more about being a good parent than many of the so-called parents on here ("so-called" because there's a big difference between fathering a child and being a father to a child).
Nothing is their fault. It's the Internet's fault. It's the search engine's fault. It's the fault of the adult web sites. It's society's fault. It has nothing to do with the fact that the parents parked the kid in front of a computer and didn't monitor what the kid was doing. It's got nothing to do with the fact that dad turned off Safe Search and was too brain-dead-stupid to have a different account with different settings for the kids. And when the kid swears he got to hornycoeds.com through searching for "butterfly" in Google, it must be true.

The Blame Game. It solves everything. Or not. Look, there are, and have been, instances of abuse in both settings but trying to blame one over the other solves nothing.
