Lots of interesting insights in this blog post - I may not agree with everything Ubuntu does, but at least it's doing something.

Seriously, you are looking at Xorg and deciding Mir is something big and important.

It is more like a Compiz or Beryl sitting atop the kernel. The stack is just moving down a level...

The project scope is something more like usplash, just with multi-display config, and form factor config (because they have 3 form factors for one interface)
