PDAs, Cellphones, Wireless So, The Wall Street Journal is reporting that Microsoft was very close to take over Nokia, but that the talks eventually broke down, probably beyond repair - at least for now. The reasons the talks broke down illustrate something that I have repeatedly tried to make clear for a long time now: Nokia isn't doing well.

Of course Tizen won't have to compete with MeeGo. It still has to be better. MeeGo was a year behind Android when it launched some years ago. Since then, Android has been developing at an incredible speed, and MeeGo dropped all its good stuff to become Tizen.

MeeGo didn't became Tizen. Tizen was another product and it was worked on before MeeGo got aborted.

Nope, except for some part that Tizen IVI has taken from MeeGo (which as also targeting the IVI market), Tizen is not derived from Meego at all:
