General Development

Hollywood 6.0 has been released. Since I'm not so sure most of you know what it is, here's the official description.

Hollywood is a multimedia-oriented programming language that can be used to create graphical applications very easily. It was designed with the paradigm to make software creation as easy as possible in mind. Thus, Hollywood is suited for beginners and advanced users alike. Hollywood comes with an extensive function library (encompassing almost 700 different commands) that simplifies the creation of 2D games, presentations, and applications, to a great extent. It has been in development since 2002 and hence is today a very mature and stable software package.

No its not. MorphOS is on all Amiga sites. It runs on amigaos filesystems. it supports amigaos icons, newicons, glowicons+++ it supports AHI and MUI. It runs 68k apps which can use 68k libs or PPC libs. You can transform MorphOS to AmigaOS 3.9 if you want. MorphOS calls Ambient which is Workbench.. and when I do a version, it says:

Ram Disk:> version full
MorphOS 3.7, Ambient 1.43, Kickstart 51.39

The name is only the difference. The marked is the same. So its damn correct to say that it is AmigaOS Compatible and that it is a AmigaOS. Because saying that MorphOS is MorphOS will make people not understand what it is at all. All these discussions makes people not connect with the Amiga platform. Do we want that or do we want people to use all the flavours of the Amiga NG platforms!?

Dude, I know all that. The problem isn't what the OS is capable of, but the fact that there already is an OS called AmigaOS 4 out there capable of pretty much the same stuff. It's like wanting to call every car a Toyota. It's damn more confusing than clarifying.

If people can't take the effort to learn the slightest about what MorphOS is, then you are already speaking to the wrong crowd anyway.
