you don't know industries use CinePaint, Maya under linux?

i hope you know some studio created their home tool under linux?

For sound engineering apps, Apple rules the roost. I've only encountered one studio in recent years using a non-Mac environment, Windows in that case, and the engineers hated it. I've never encountered Linux in studios, and it's doubtful this will be changing soon.

Many studios haven't even switched from classic Macs to OS X yet, because the system works just fine for them. It'll be interesting to see if the new Intel Macs will change this situation or not.
