Gnome Alexander Larsoon (Nautilus maintainer) has a new Nautilus search implementation with optional Beagle integration via plugins. It is now possible to save the searches as smart folders.

As the guy writing tracker, I have released a pre-release version of Tracker to interested parties.

Tracker can already do beagle like searches plus it can also do RDF Query searches on any metadata field.

Im hoping to have it as the default search engine for Nautilus search as its written in C and also has very low memory requirements (typically 3-6MB RAM used).

I expect to have it in Gnome VFS shortly...
