Apple The company expressed concern that to the extent its minority market share has caused software developers to question Apple's prospects in the PC space, developers could be less inclined to develop software for Apple products, and instead feel more inclined to devote their resources to developing software for the larger Windows market or growing Linux market. Using XP Pro at college, and Win2K3 and Gentoo Linux with Gnome 2.10 at home, I dare say Linux on the Desktop more than matches Windows.

We still have some distance left in certain areas to match Mac OS X, but already now this is a very close race.

But matching Windows is a non-issue. We're ahead of Windows.
