Google previews Android 3.0 “Honeycomb” at CES

“For the first time, Google has officially published details about the next major update to its open source Android mobile operating system, Android 3.0 code named “Honeycomb”. Aimed at tablet computers, the first preview of Honeycomb comes as this year’s Consumer Electronics Show (CES) is taking place in Las Vegas.”
Android 3.0 is already available on ARM, and Motorola will ship the first Android Honeycomb tablet, in March on Verizon.

Thanks for the heads up – in the future however does that mean Google will be maintaining two branches? I”m assuming the interface specific for the tablet is probably best to be left on the tablet with the phone side maintaining its own interface as we see today? It will be interesting to see whether these devices make their way globally instead of being a ‘US Only’ phenomenon.
