Chris Messina, of Flock. A devoted open minded guy, met with a few folks from Microsoft, had a dinner, chatted about DRM, Apple, Freedom, Technology, browsers, and just wrote a story about what was going on out there. Part One and Two.
Actually, I agree with most of what he had to say in the second article. He didn’t include an interview style presentation of what the Microsoft employees said, but he did have a valid point even if he chose to express it more like an angry rant than an article. None of what he had to say was news, but at least he was adding his voice to the people already displeased about DRM.
That said it probably isn’t really worth reading much. The gist of it is that he’s one of many who doesn’t like DRM, and he’s trying to point out the obvious to Microsoft who’s leadership refuse to listen. As far as Microsoft loosing customers, I just don’t see that happening to the company with an iron grip on the majority of the OS market share whether they piss off their users (sheep) or not.
It was pretty stupid you’re right. As if we all thought Jim Allchin was evil, and if he was as if we’re stupid enough to believe evil people are mean in person!
It’s hard to be a successful evil people if you can’t even be two faced .
You notice Mr. Ballmer wasn’t there throwing chairs!
This is nothing more than an individual rant and has no resemblence of an actual news article. While the meeting was not a formal interview the author could of done a better job of writing. Though reality is that it’s just a web blog, not anything resembling a news article. Also I have a difficult time taking anyone serious when they use vulgar language or words that are not even in the English language such as “But I’m jess sayin’, yoo kno?”. With wording such as that it makes a writer appear like an immature teenager instead of an adult who can communicate intelligently his/her point of view.
First half was pretty devoid of anything, just saying Jim Allchin isn’t that bad basically.
Second half was just an excuse to bitch about DRM. In fact, he doesn’t even include anything Jim Allchin said about it.
Pretty worthless article. You don’t get anything out of it really.

…and don’t read that article.
What again was the point of this article btw?

should of asked for a job instead.
What are you all on about anyway? I thought it was a mildly entertaining read. Not especially newsworthy, but entertaining nonetheless…

And this was modded down for?
Din’t endured till end anyway.
~Microsoft asked me on a dinner, so Microsoft is good.
Man you are so easy!
~They’ve listened to what I say.
Congratulations on that – I also read what you’ve got to say – what does it imply ? (pssst.. – hint – wasted time)
Maybe there was more to wine in this meeting, than author is willing to admit.
