I see this as a VERY good sign. 🙂 Keep those timely patches coming, boys! 2006-08-03 6:02 pm MechR AFAIK this one is non-security-related. It’s just that Firefox was blocking Windows Media content that used the MMS protocol. http://www.mozillazine.org/talkback.html?article=13684 2006-08-03 7:21 pm Eric Martin Bookmarks tooltip with mouseover doesn’t show URL. Stupid. Now that these guys are making big money some of us are going to be more critical. 2006-08-03 7:59 pm n1xt3r Sadly, I fear your criticism will weigh much less now, as the development funds increase, where before it was more likely to be vice versa. Money has a tendency to dictate everything, but hopefully Mozilla will be the exception and not the rule. 2006-08-03 8:59 pm Eric Martin I AM HAVING REAL PROBLEMS WITH LATEST FF. Are you sure it’s not something you screwed up? 2006-08-03 11:41 pm de_wizze Funny you mention having a ‘Real’ problem … http://it.slashdot.org/it/06/08/02/2154250.shtml http://www.forbes.com/2006/08/01/internet-real-mozilla_cx_lh_0802re… 2006-08-03 11:35 pm Axord Bookmarks tooltip with mouseover doesn’t show URL. Looks like they’ve been working on it: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=237592 Also, tooltips with url show up for bookmarks when you hover over the Bookmarks Toolbar. Lastly, you can add configurable tooltips to the Bookmarks Sidebar by using this extension: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/2615/ Edit: The 1.5.6 update worked flawlessly for me. Edited 2006-08-03 23:37 2006-08-03 7:31 pm Sphinx I thought the blocking of windows media content was a feature 2006-08-03 11:16 pm Eric Martin FF really screwed up after the update. I had about 10-20 tabs open. I will redownload to see if that helps. 2006-08-04 4:12 am Eric Martin Axord. Will try. FF is still screwed up with this update. Not using until the next update. 2006-08-04 8:49 pm Axord Eric, have you tired the standard diagnostic steps yet? http://kb.mozillazine.org/Standard_diagnostic_-_Firefox Nuking the profile has almost always been the solution to my problems in the past. 2006-08-05 6:59 am Eric Martin I will try. thanks.
