Tao Group announced major enhancements and additions to its intent technology suite, and the launch of the intent 2 SDK. Technology components include: Qi (Brandable Control Center), iSS (intent Sound System), iVE (intent Visual Environment), Java solutions, and gaming.
I am happy to see that eventually good progress has been made despite unfortunate delays. The AmigaDE community has been waiting for this update for some time now. Amiga will integrate all their tools for a new AmigaDE SDK.
IMO Tao’s underlying technology is very impressive (fast platform independent binaries, fast java support, amazingly small footprint, flexable and transparent).
People can already see this technology in action with Amiga’s game packs which appear to have sold out at most CompUSA stores.
An older TechTV demonstration regarding some of Amiga’s value addings (i.e. cool 2D scaling tech):

Looking forward to see it included in future versions of AmigaOS too :o)
“Looking forward to see it included in future versions of AmigaOS too :o)”
No thanks. I like what Tao are doing in itself – it was impressive when it was first announced in Edge ten years ago and it still seems clever now.
But I don’t want their stuff mixed into the Amiga. It would be like putting fried chicken legs into the porridge. They are better kept separate, and used for what they are good for.
Allow me to state the FACTS about Amiga: FACT: Amiga users and open source code advocates are opposed to laws such as the DMCA which are made to stop online terrorism. FACT: The WTC disaster wouldn’t have been possible without Amiga. FACT: Saddam Hussein used Amiga in his WMD program extensively to mass produce tens of thousands of WMDs in the last couple of years. FACT: Dmitry Skylarov used Amiga to rob authors of eBooks blind. FACT: Hackers use Amiga to commit illegal acts. FACT: Software, music, and video pirates use Amiga to crack protection codes and to serve up illegally copied material. FACT: Iran uses Amiga in it’s nuclear arms program and North Korea runs embedded Amiga it it’s nuclear ICBMs. FACT: Charles Taylor, president of Liberia, is an Amiga user and advocate.
Wow I didn’t now Amigas were in such widespread use o:
REALY?!?!?!
/me is amazed!!! 😮
How long before we can get one so we can all carck NASA and build one of those fine Space shuttles in our one back yard??? :p
If what you said is true (and granting your sources are reliable) you just gave me a dam good reason to save my money and buy one of those!!! It must be a hack of a machine with an incredible OS and a networking stack that smokes anything known to men!!!!
And it and also bypasses copy protections?! SWEET!! With a 14 MHz motorola cpu from the mid 80’s (obviously your talkin abou the classic Amiga cause Amiga One hasnt been releasde yet) who would have known?!
This is (litteraly) unbelivable!!! )
BTW Anyone howns a Nuclear War head??? i think i’ll might just need one of those in the next couple of months…. :p
FACTS?? Wow real goddam facts? Dammit I used a 2GHz WindowsXP machine to create *my* Weapons of Mass Destruction. What a terrible waste of time, money and frustration. I could have just used my trusty A1200 all along 😉
Back on topic, it’s good to see TAO’s excellent technology evolving further. I look forward to using it in future AmigaDE releases, and I’m sure many other products too.
FACT: Fresh is full of BS.
1.) DMCA was created to hamper freedom to live, not online terrorism, if you belive otherwise, then you have no right to breathe.
2.) WTC wouldn’t of happen if the FBI/CIA wasn’t a bunch of lazy clowns.
3.) WMD are proven lies, US Government admitted it. You want to other people to believe otherwise?
4.) Dmitry Skylarov? Learn how to read.
5.) oOo, they also use Linux and Windows, what’s your point? Oh, thats right, your stupid.
6.) See 5.
7.) See 6.
8.) See 7.
Oh yeah, I believe Fresh.. lol, If you believe him, then you must be religious… in either case, your a fraud.
