Frenzy is a “portable system administrator toolkit”, LiveCD based on FreeBSD. It generally contains software for hardware tests, file system check, security check and network setup and analysis. The system is oriented to Russian-speaking users, but this could change if project will get more popularity.
Do You know freesbie?
Get a trip: http://www.freesbie.org

I hope they will move the live CD to other languages. Looks like a great tool.
There is also snarl: http://snarl.eecue.com/articles/ developed by one of the guys down at la2600 .
but can’t one just use the second cd from the FreeBSD ftp site? it’s a complete base system from what i recall…
Any way you look at it this could be very handy. I see there are a few other projects like this out there. Are there any more?
Also I have been doing something similar to this with all my OS 9 machines for some time now. I create a boot CD with OS 9, Diskwarrior, Norton, Tech Tool Pro (The list goes on and on). When booting from it I can access all my shared volumes and pull what ever system folder I might need. (An easy fix when dealing with strange system problems usually caused by corruption is to simply replace the system folder. Although you need to keep a system folder for every model of Mac you have. But when you buy 80+ at a time its not a big deal.)
LiveCD distributions? A few for FreeBSD are (obviously) posted above, there are quite a few Linux ones, and there’s always DragonFly…
Roll your own with their scripts (which are mostly ripped from freesby and livecd projects BTW) and you can have your own localized version.
The pity about the FreeBSD livecds is that there is no compressed filesytem like in Linux so a disk will hold up to 50% less 🙁 (unless you gzip it and uncompress to memoryfs, in which case you need a *lot* of memory)
