Find out how the HP Smart Array controller provides the tools you need in this chapter. About The Author Eugenia Loli Ex-programmer, ex-editor in chief at OSNews.com, now a visual artist/filmmaker. We usually only ask for support on 2 parts on this machines: power supplys and SmartArrays. When a machine gets rebooted after some months or even years, the controller can’t find any devices (replacement is in order). But even with this ‘minor’ glitch I prefer them to the Percs on Dell servers which can’t handle a drive failure on a RAID1 volume without crashing the machine! 2005-01-31 4:52 pm Not sure about after HP bought Compaq but where SmartArrays were compaq they were/are worlds ahead of the Dell crap.
