GTK+ Gtk+ 2.10 has been released. Check the release notes. This release offers better printing support, improved drag and drop support, and much more. For the record: "GTK+ is a multi-platform toolkit for creating graphical user interfaces. Offering a complete set of widgets, GTK+ is suitable for projects ranging from small one-off tools to complete application suites."

whats so ugly and garish? Are you talking about the theme and icons? Dont you know how to choose a different theme, icon set, and customize your workspace? Some prefer functionality as oppossed to bright and shiny.

That's gnome 2.4. It was release in 2003, not "mid-2006".
