This article is kind of sad and it actually tugs my heart a little to see someone with obvious talent just letting itgo because others are to egocentric to acknowledge that they might be wrong. We have very few people who deal with the kernel who know, care, can do anything about what affects the user. Linus and friends might not care about Linux as a desktop but many other people are working hard to make this a reality and if the devs don't realize that interactivity and usability aren't measurable but at the same time are not always subjective, we are pretty much going to hit a brick wall at some point. The part with the scheduler nearly broke my heart, it's really sad to see.
