Heh. LFS is quite a challenge. Do you want UTF-8 support? If you do the LFS you must use is this one (an unofficial release)
http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/~alexander/lfs-book/
It supports unicode, which standard LFS doesn't.
But remember to RTF(abulous)M before you start.
