Privacy, Security, Encryption Fresh from winning the PWN2OWN contest yesterday, Charlie Miller has been interviewed by ZDNet. He talks about how Mac OS X is a very simple operating system to exploit due to the lack of any form of anti-exploit features. He also explains that the underlying operating system is much more important in creating a successful exploit than the bowser, why Chrome is so hard to hack, and many other things.

Unfortunately he has the assistance of at least one "journalist" in this pursuit.

Ah yes, it's the fault of the journalists that Apple was the first to fall, and that a talented and very experienced hacker says the platform isn't very safe compared to Windows. Can't counter with arguments? Shoot the messenger.

Yup, totally our fault. I'm sorry we have had the audacity to report on something negative about Apple. I hope His Steveness will be able to forgive me, because if the fantasy world you live in turns out to be the real thing, he'll be the one up there.
