I don't think I've ever seen this before, but please correct me if I'm wrong. Samsung anf Google were supposed to unveil the Samsung Nexus Prime with Android Ice Cream Sandwich next week, but in a surprise announcement, the companies said that the press event is cancelled - out of respect for Steve Jobs. In the meantime, leaked specifications reveal that the Nexus Prime could be a real doozy.

The cynic in me wants to say the delay is more to have clear tech headlines. I Hope its more genuine than that though.
Jobs was a Major influence in the industry for many years. Larry Page was barely a tot when Jobs was at his peak the first time round.
The tops of these companies all know one another personally as well as professionally.

Did the ENTIRE world really that that much of a hard-on for Steve Jobs? In what world is it insulting to hold a conference about some pretty sweet upcoming tech because some guy whose company who just released a shitty phone, died? OMG HE'D TURN OVER IN HIS GRAVE!! Gimme a break. Whatever, as long as this doesn't delay the launch of the new NEXUS then who cares, right?
Don't believe the bullshit press statement. This was held up by some kind of last-minute technical snag.

Joint statement to The Next Web from Microsoft and Google: "Microsoft and YouTube are working together to update the new YouTube for Windows Phone app to enable compliance with YouTube's API terms of service, including enabling ads, in the coming weeks. Microsoft will replace the existing YouTube app in Windows Phone Store with the previous version during this time." Good to know these children stopped acting like little pricks. Can we have full Google support in Windows 8 now, please?

Yahoo is acquiring Tumblr, the microblogging and social networking website, for $1.1 billion USD. Tumblr offers little revenue but lots of eyeballs if Yahoo can monetarize them. Now Yahoo is bidding for Hulu, the streaming video service. After years of ineffective responses while Google, Facebook, and others took large chunks of the online advertising market, Yahoo is fighting back. Can Yahoo reignite the momentum it had at the turn of the century? What do you think?

"Sony gave the PS4 50% more raw shader performance, plain and simple (768 SPs @ 800MHz vs. 1152 SPs & 800MHz). Unlike last generation, you don't need to be some sort of Jedi to extract the PS4's potential here. The Xbox One and PS4 architectures are quite similar, Sony just has more hardware under the hood. Weâll have to wait and see how this hardware delta gets exposed in games over time, but the gap is definitely there. The funny thing about game consoles is that itâs usually the lowest common denominator that determines the bulk of the experience across all platforms. On the plus side, the Xbox One should enjoy better power/thermal characteristics compared to the PlayStation 4. "The Verge has learned that HTC's Chief Product Officer, Kouji Kodera, left the company last week. Kodera was responsible for HTC's overall product strategy, which makes the departure especially notable on the heels of the global launch of the make-or-break One. It's not just Kodera. In the past three-odd months, HTC has lost a number of employees in rapid succession." I really hope HTC pulls it together.
