Well the ftp install is a no go. Kernel panic’d twice, so downloading the DVD torrent.
FTP installation is something that is specifically tested

Bugs reports to http://bugzilla.redhat.com is appreciated for any issues that you might find.
Yeah I reported it. Bug#201597. But since that part of the install is ncurses and it puked all over my screen I wasn’t able to get a whole lot of useful output. My setup is pretty common though so I’m sure someone will be able to easily reproduce it.

And still they have their butt ugly bluecurve instead of something that looks nice and professional. Before some one moderates down, compare these screenshots:

SLED10 (just an example): http://shots.osdir.com/slideshows/original.php?release=700&slide=6
Do you honestly dare to say that the fedora one is better?

The new icons theme for Fedora Core is in progress and is not ready to be packaged yet. Be in mind this is only a test release, not the final product that might be different.
Beside, users can change their own icons theme if they don’t like the default.
SLED10 is a tour de force of UI excellence, I really like Tango but Bluecurve is my second pick for icons to be honest.
Back to Fedora Core 6 Test 2, I have it running here and it’s absolutely worth a try if you have the urge to go distro shopping. It’s a true master peice of technology.
Actually, I don’t think EITHER is a clear winner.
Though, aspects of SLED10’s clarity/ sharpness is nice, I alos think the warmth of fedora is appealing.
For me, neither rocked my world.
No, but I dare to say that they both are pretty similar, and that you can change it whenever you want. The default look of a distro is kinda subjective, some people like it, some people don’t, but you can always change it
but you can always change it
True, but fedora how much i like it hasnt exactly a history of art attention.

Nice wallpaper art with the fedora logo projected on a drop of water.
I didn’t test it for long – right now – but it seems to be an interesting release, even if the resolution is stuck at 800×600 on my VMWare Server.
Let’s see how it will work for a few days…
