Debian.org reports – The Debian Installer team is proud to announce the third beta release of the installer for Debian GNU/Linux Etch. Major new features introduced with this release includes the option to install using a graphical user interface on i386 and amd64. OSDir has some shots of Etch Beta 3 graphical installer in the Debian Installer Etch Beta 3 Screenshot Tour.
Looking great. Not sure it is needed but may at least appease those that wish for a GUI installer.
If I could change one thing it would be that instead of just choosing DESKTOP SYSTEM, it let you choose which DE(s) you wanted.
Okay, and maybe it is time to consider a different color scheme?
So many questions – why not a ‘quicky install’ choice along with a ‘normal install’ choice?
Still, great work!!!!
People seem to miss the point. The main point of GUI installer is to support internationalization, as complex scripts couldn’t be adequately rendered on the text interface.
i didnt try the gui version but the standard is quite simple compared to days of old. i actually uncheck the desktop system an install by hand the things i need… easier to get blackbox up that way.
