“Google calls itself one of the world’s largest hardware makers. For the past 10 years, the web giant has designed much of the gear driving the massive data centers that underpin its web empire, but it treats the particulars of this hardware operation as the most important of trade secrets. That’s why the Pluto Switch is so intriguing.” It’s easy to forget large web companies like Google actually design and build their own hardware.
Google is so unlike other companies … makes you really wonder if this isn’t proof they’re actually working with aliens.

I hear one of their engineers even has a special screwdriver…
Still speculation, not proof… however, looking at what the Soviets designated as Sputnik 3 ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Спутник-3.jpg ) probably dispels most of any doubts.
Pluto Switch left behind?
You’re getting sloppy, Kirk.
Its nice to heard this news, Google produce a new cell phone.
This is not a cell phone. It is a piece of computer hardware. While English is not your primary language and you understand it better than I understand any other language, your comprehension still needs some work.
…that Wired wrote such a long article about such a trifling event. An article littered with speculations. “Odds are”, “I guess”, “they said”, etc. Not the epitome of certainty.
But… but… but… I thought that Google was an “OMG advertising company OMG”. I trusted you, Tony Swash, I TRUSTED YOU!!!
P.S.
I like to think that this “mystery switch” is actually some BOFH scheme to stick old gear in a new case, and sell it for $$$ as some kind s00p3r s3kr1t Google custom hardware.
