Another patent fight is taking shape, this time between the two struggling smartphone makers RIM and Nokia. “Nokia has asked a California court to enforce an arbitration award that would prevent Research In Motion from selling products with wireless LAN capabilities until the companies can agree on patent royalty rates.”
Apparently it hasn’t crossed these companies’ minds yet that they’re tanking, and that it might be in their best interests to just play fair and compete on innovation. This is just stupid. Elop, you have any brain cells left?

Playing fair in MS best interest? You made my day.
I’m not even talking about Microsoft here–I’m talking about the two dwindling and dying companies fighting in the courts instead of actually doing something productive for themselves and the public.
Of course, maybe Elop was sent in by Microsoft to destroy and dismantle the company, who knows, I’m not about to take the conspiracy theorists’ side until it’s proven without a doubt that such extreme assumptions are actually true.
Either way, one thing is for sure: Nokia is going down, and Elop will have one hell of a time getting a job at a similar company unless it’s Microsoft (assuming the conspiracy theories are correct and are in fact the truth).
Microsoft bought Nokia, doesn’t pay for it, and now it’s been used to fire against RIM just when it gets it’s head off the sinking water with BB10.
Technology has been forgotten my friends. It’s a war for the stockholders.

… on popcorn D:
Looks like MS is going to murder as many companies as it gets to have its 3rd ecosystem place, whenever anybody (including consumers) want it or not.
Niceties and fair competitions are nice and such but the when now it’s gotten serious.
Yes, I know that’s not PC, and I appologize if I offend, but that’s all that comes to mind.
