Yeah and I used to start the day by loading the paper tape into the reader and loading the bootstrap via the front panel. So? times have changed so get with it Man!

I can’t wait until someone produces one with a twist in the middle…but that would quickly be followed by the competitor twisting their’s along the vertical axis…unless of course Apple claims to have already patented that “novel” approach…sigh. I like mine flat because it fits in a shirt pocket better.

I think part of it is about just saying they were early/first. Part of it is testing the waters to see if there is much market for them.

I would really love to have a smartphone like this. With the proper display (scratch resistant and at least a bit waterproof) that would be really cool.

A smartphone you could put at your wrist or roll like papers is obviously the right direction. But until the technology can achieve it, I don’t see how those curved smartphones are a step forward.

you aren’t supposed to be doing anything else with your life that playing with your thing (the phone like thing stupid). Look at many young people today. They heep a vice like grip on their ‘things’ even if they are:-
– Falling down drunk
– Being hit by a car while walking across a street and texting/tweeting/facebooking at the same time
– etc etc etc
As you are not supposed to let it out of your hand even for an instant then why would you ever need somewhere to put it when your hand is a perfect recepticle for it anyway?
Can’t lay it on a table once in a while and type on it, fail. Too big to fit in a pocket, fail. Too big for use as a phone, fail. Those two alone make this one a bigtime no for me. Others’ opinions may differ, go for it.
Our hands naturally sit in a curved position, part of the reason almost all pc-mice are curved, this is good news isn’t it? Less achey hand syndrome when on your phone for a while?

You don’t hold a cellphone length-wise like you do a mouse so that cellphone is curved in the wrong direction for comfort. OOPS!
Btw, if you’re on the phone so long that you hand hurts, use a speakerphone. Or better yet, get off the damn phone and do something productive.
The android phone market seems to be quite similar to the razor blade market… 2 blades, no 3, no 4!. I’ve got 5 blades over here! Well we’ve got 5 blades and an extra curved one for nosehair trimming!

My old Nexus S was slightly curved, and it was definitely more comfortable to hold to my face than any other phone I’ve had recently.
