How large is the demand for Android phones made by Nokia? Well, if China is any indication, it’s pretty big: Nokia announced today that it has had 1 million pre-orders in China alone. The more of these things sell, the larger a pickle it’ll put Microsoft in.
So yeah, I hope Nokia sells lots of them.
…PH
Hmmm … so, this thing validates that Nokia would have been better off using Android than Windows Phone in the first place.
Or that the Nokia X is selling volumes in the same ballpark as Asha which it was intended to replace? Lol.
That is still a huge number.
In certain markets, entry level Samsung phones and Nokia Asha phones where being sold in crazy amounts.
It’s like how your grocery store gets baskets of oranges and sells them all by afternoon.
There is much doubt in the air. Other sites report the numbers are a cheat because there’s one Chinese retailer who held a competition where by “pre-ordering” the phone one could participate into a raffle and win a Nokia X for free… And multiple pre-orders per person was allowed…

Can’t be any more fake than “200 million sold…” coming out of Microsoft when they aren’t sold – but shipped.
