Submitted by Apple Inc products such as laptops and tablets are not banned from Chinese government procurement lists, according to the country’s chief procurement center, refuting a report claiming Apple was blacklisted on national security concerns.
According to a Bloomberg News report published on Wednesday, 10 Apple products, including MacBook laptops and iPad tablets, were taken off a government list of approved hardware due to security concerns.
The Central Government Procurement Centre, as well as the finance ministry and Apple, said the company never applied to be on the list in the first place.
Earlier reports were wrong.
Report was probably sponsored by Samsung to exaggerate the insecurity of iDevices.

No one requests to be put on the list, the Government either puts you there or not, amounts to a ban just the same.

Don’t know why you got voted up. It’s like you and the voter didn’t even read the article.
First of all, reading the article, it’s not “the government”, but specific ministries of the Chinese government. Second, where do you get your information about how those ministries operate those lists? According to the article, one of the ministries involved said Apple meets the criteria for being on the list.
The list in question is a list of products that meet energy saving requirements, and doesn’t prevent things not on the list from being procured.
