Relatively shortly after the Pebble Time and Time Steel, Pebble has announced the Pebble Time Round – and, you guessed it, it’s a round Pebble. It looks absolutely fantastic, so much so that it makes you wonder why they bothered with the Time and Steel to begin with. Much like other round Android Wear watches, this thing further drives the point home that round is the way to go for those of us who want to wear a watch, and not a mini smartphone.
Pebble Time Round is faithful to timeless watch design while being a true Pebble at heart. The beautiful, always-on, e-paper display discreetly camouflages the smarts within.

At 7.5mm thin and weighing just 28 grams, Pebble Time Round is the thinnest and lightest smartwatch in the world.
It’s $249, and there’s a trade-in program in place for Pebble Time and Steel backers who may want to switch to the Round.
I’m fine with my Pebble Time Steel, although it still needs more polished applications. The main complain is: screen edging is rather wide. As a result the screen is not as big (and bright) as it should be.
I can imaging how small the current apps will look on Time Round. I guess it will take a while for developers to make good round applications.
I have a Pebble Time Steel, love it, though still am waiting for the steel band to be delivered. I use it daily. Showed my wife the Round she liked it, might end up getting that for her.
I too love my Pebble Time Steel. E-ink is the only way to go.
I would prefer a round watch, and I will by one one Pebble (or someone else) make one that goes for a week between charges.
Thanks for being a Pebble Time friend.
Not only it’s not e-Ink, but it’s also got 2 days battery life only.
That’s even lower than the original Gear and only comparable to the horrible Android crap.
2 days of battery life for a watch?? Useless!
My Garmin Vivoactive has 3 weeks when not using the GPS … and it has a GPS 🙂
It can do notifications, calendar, weather, step counting, show phonecalls, user apps etc. and it works as a sportswatch with GPS.
OK the design may be a bit squarish, but in my opinion it is smart as in “clever” instead of smart as in “flashy”.
This watch isn’t waterproof, only splashproof, and only 2days of batterylife.
The batterylife is one of the killer features of the original(and Time)-pebbles.
I admit, it looks good. It will certainly appeal to many.
But couldn’t they have made it 10grams heavier for 2 days extra batterylife at least?
When my orginal pebble dies (the screen sometimes pixelates for me) I’ll be in the market for a new one. But I think I will buy the time steel instead.
10days battery and waterproof.
Yeah! How much thicker would it be with a watertight case and 1-week battery?
It looks fantastic, though.
Original pebble: the display sometimes gets a loose connection to the board (it’s one of those sponge connectors).
I took mine apart, cleaned up the connection and added a small piece of earplug to push against it and make contact. Hasn’t had a problem since.
Nice, but looks rather lame compared to the upcoming Gear S2.
The watch and the CEO. Isn’t that the cutest CEO ever?
The main reason I got a Pebble time steel is the battery.
The screen is too small and the applications are not there compared to Android watches. Take away the battery life and what do have left?
No offense, but battery life is the main differentiation. A pebble is a watch with notifications that lasts multiple days.
IMHO, that’s better than a moto 360 with less than a days worth of battery and/or a goofy gesture just to see the time.
Slightly worried about the location of the charger port – lots of potential of an irritated skin there…
Looks like an Garmin ForeRunner 2xx series sports watch, kind of.
I do not think it is THAT good looking. But that is just my personal opinion.
It needs a bigger bezel, a more washed-out screen, and more elements of the hardware that only make sense on one software screen (like the ‘segments’ printed on the bezel). This thing is not attractive or in any way stylish.
