Apple is expanding its Windows Migration Assistant in macOS 10.14 Mojave with a handful of new features that will make switching from Windows to macOS a much more seamless experience.
As spotted by a user on Twitter, for macOS 10.14 beta 6, the Setup Assistant and Migration Assistant will be able to migrate more data than ever before such as accounts, documents, email, contacts, and calendar.
Making the transition from a Windows system to a MacOS one even easier than before is a nice touch. It exemplifies what Apple has achieved over the years in making things easier to use.
However, everything I am reading about Apple hardware for the last couple of years – weak keyboard design on the MacBooks and stale specifications – is not really encouraging users to switch.
There seems to be a wave of desertion more often toward Linux than Windows and another wave of increase Hackintosh development activity.
Maybe Apple should focus on how to retain its current users?
Hm, maybe some vocal ones. But web stats don’t show this at all…
