Visopsys 0.33 is primarily a bugfix release but with bootable CD-ROM support added. The download site now offers a bootable ISO image containing a complete distribution with source code.

Thanks for the up-to-date news. This is OSNews at it’s best – I don’t know any other site where this type of info is available.
I haven’t downloaded Visopsys since the Preview release of 0.2. I’m downloading the latest right now and am curious to see what’s changed.
Best Wishes,
Bob
Boy that is the worst font i’ve ever seen. Just by changing to a better font and a more pleasing background they could get a lot more people interested.
To see the current progress of Viopsys I downloaded, unzipped, and burned the ISO file. I made sure the BIOS was set to boot from CD and restarted the computer. The splash screen came up, “Visopsys loader 0.33…” then nothing. The floppy light lit and stayed on, but absolutely nothing happened to the CD drive.
So I tried the floppy image and had much better results. The OS booted fine and everything seemed to work like it should at this stage. One comment, the background image should be replaced. The tiled Visopsys logos made it dificult to see the desktop icons.
Anyone else have trouble with the ISO?
Looking at my saved download files, the last version I tried was 0.2 Preview. Were any changes made between “0.2 Preview” and 0.2?
Best Wishes,
Bob
