“Microsoft will ship Service Pack 1 in Q3 this year, a little later than expected. But from the sound of it the company is planning SP1 more as a bundle of goodies and enhancements than as a plain old fix roll-up. It’ll include support for the Mira and Freestyle technologies Microsoft intends to unleash on us, and will also apparently support Tablet PCs, which are due out later this year.” Read the rest of the report at TheRegister.
Maybe I’m simple, but instead of including new skins for Windows Media Player in a fix-pack, why not include more fixes?
Maybe they fixed everything they knew about, and/or had time to fix? I mean, after all.. windows update is there for a reason right? I hadn’t checked it in a couple of weeks and yesterday, i found i was missing 6 security patches. All in all it works excellent for me. I’m still getting over the disgust of the pricetag, but other than that, i’m satisfied.

With more and more of your private info going to MS without your knowledge, would you really trust them to “fix” anything?
With more and more of your automatic purchases going to MS, would you really trust them to “want” to fix anything?
(couldn’t resist)
