Can’t wait to try it out. My nic is finally supported
thisll be awesome.
Its really starting to get cool.
I tried to install it on my old Pentuim Pro machine but
i never got the video driver to work (mga 4mb).
I will try the new version to see if it works now..
Great Job.
Something not mentioned in the blurb is that Ville, the lead developer of MenuetOS, has handed over development (he’s moving on to something else). The guy taking charge, Mike Hibbett, worked on Menuet’s networking stack and will no doubt do a great job of it.
So a big “cheers!” to Ville for all his hard work, and a big “good luck!” to Mike. MenuetOS is more of a curiosity than a full day-to-day OS at the moment, but it’s making excellent progress and is outrageously fast too.
What is Ville moving on to ?
binary machine coded os ?
ScummVM and Doom?
Add a decent selection of LucasArts games for ScummVM and that’s my desert island choice.
I now declare this OS feature complete.
I have not tried it for a while, but I think it’s got a bit faster too in this release. Moving a window used to take a little while to redraw on my p133, but now there is no delay.
this os is sooooo coool i am gona use it as my portable doom os
is everything i have to say!!
doom3 and dosbox omg !!! this menuet will get big air time!!
keep up the good work guys, you are on the right track
I just booted up the disk, its actually really fast. I couldn’t get it to work with my network, but I didn’t really epect it to. I assume that Anonymous knows its DOOM I, not III. I wish it was DOOM3, I would love that too. To still a line from a slachdot post, my computer is only fast enough to run the Doom 3 interactive slide show.
My, my, my! There’s even a Screenshot with prince of Persia!!!
Takes me back….
Hopefully Dosbox will be faster than in Win or Linux (So I can play my old Cds of Dune1, Dune 2 and M.A.X.)
I wonder if they have thought of porting it to x86-64 asm. use the 64bit registers….that would be awesome, and probably nice and fast……
Anyone else notice that it can fit on a floppy? I think I have found my new toy!
We will miss Ville at the helm.
Good luck to Mike and welcome to all the newcomers.
