wxWidgets is very limited in other areas though. The docs are mostly outdated and not very well written. The API reminds me of MFC. There is no real WidgetEditor available and no commercial editor that could compete with qtdesigner either (most of them suck). As a user or former user of wxWidgets apps (e.g. xMule) I have seen them crashing so many times it’s not even funny.
an texteditor and i used several apps who based on wx.
none of them ever crashed. with the docs i never had any problems, ok some of them are not on the current developement edge and the ARE a little unhandy but do not suck.
the api is very clear, that you dont like mfc is maybe a nother chapter.
One of those looks like it will fix an issue I’ve had with Konqueror for a while.
SuSE has just posted KDE 3.3.0 on their regular download page
http://www.suse.de/en/private/download/linuks/i386/update_for_9_1/b…
I guess they’re looking for whatever last minute help they can get with finding the last rough edges, if any, before actual release. I’ll try.
KDE is 0.0.3 versions units behind Qt. To leave room for bug fixes?

He, KDE is catching up! Honestly, how dumb to look at version numbers.
QT is costly. $1000 a year for non-gpl application !!

Well, not exactly too expensive for a software company.
But for the home user, yes, it’s quiet expensive.
On the other hand, if you write software and it gets sold a lot, even then the price is nothing.
I think shareware developers will not buy this, unless, like above, they know they will sell a lot of their software.

English is not my first language, but my understanding is that, after purchasing a license, you get free upgrades (both minor and major) for a year.
Of course you can keep developing using your licensed copy as long as you please, even if it is not the latest version.
By the way, the free Qt edition also allows you to write FLOSS under other licenses, such as BSD.
nontheless isnt wx limited in that way
