“Apple Friday sent its third beta release of the forthcoming Mac OS X 10.6.2 update with fixes for QuickTime, iChat, and a widely reported guest account glitch that could delete user data. People familiar with build 10C527f said the latest update has only one known issue, and has a number of fixes in 13 different focus areas. It also reportedly provides reliability improvements for iWork, iLife, Aperture, Final Cut Studio, MobileMe, iDisk, and Safari plug-ins.”
If they weren’t so worried about the Wow! factor, they would have tested for something mundane able to destroy data.
Maybe, they’ll test for it next time they put out an upgrade release. I’m not holding my breath, mind you.
It is a massive update when one considers that the combo package (assuming the 400MB+ size has to do with it being a combo package) has doubled in size. Also, 64bit GMA support has been added which hopefully should mean by 10.7 will be released it’ll be an across the board 64bit experience.

I wonder if they (Apple) will [ever] address the Display Detection issue by allowing users to select the anti-aliasing level in the control panel again.
Does this fix DVD burning issues that people are having after upgrading (clean or not) to Snow Leopard? There is a “small group” at Apple forum for which, the burning no longer works.
Any chance it fixes the trackpad click problem plaguing many of us. Click once, twice, you never know before the system recognises it. Introduced in 10.6 and bugging a lot of us.
