The guys at Novell have released a rather interesting article which helps businesses know whether they’re ready to make the switch to Linux. It gives some steps to analyzing, evaluating, creating a road map, and putting a plan together when enterprises consider the switch.

Very intresting read. Novell really puts some effort on pushing Linux to new env. 🙂

Not bad stuff from Novell, but they really need to be doing a lot of this for their customers, such as choosing applications they can use. They need to come up with a TCO study, and tell organisations just how much they could be saving. Start with small businesses and work upwards gradually.
One thing you don’t say is “It isn’t for everyone”, even if it isn’t. They also need to circulate this to relevant organisations and cheese off a few Microsoft Channel Partners.
Windows isn’t for everyone either. NOTHING is for everyone.

no. its not called marketing. its called panicking and lying. we dont need Novell to mimic Microsoft. I dont care whether its called open source or free of Free software.
Which company doesnt try to make money? You just put out the good points you think your product has. So Novell is now a saint. Wowwwwwwwww. Just because is in the open source side. Netware did some sh… things before.

This was the reason for my post. Novell will fight Microsoft. Now they using Linux. If they win (yeah right), the next target will be even another Linux product. That is bussiness. They lost one time. They came back now, using what we like the most: Linux. But dont confuse yourself. The enemy of your enemy is your friend, as long as you have an enemy. Think about it.
