Madriva was chosen solely because it is the prominent European Linux Company. Why else would they chose a company that just came out of bankruptcy and is still trying to get it together especially when there are Linux companies much better equipped to develop this type of solution most notably RedHat and Suse. Nothing wrong with keeping business local but don’t try and tell me that Mandriva was the best choice because its somehow different then other major Linux companies.

Your a kid who's ashame of is ancestry , of is parents , of who he is and of is real name , look yourself in the mirror , kiddo.

Grown up use there real name and aint afriad of what they say will be put back on there shoulders.

Was that an insult? or attempt at one? I can't tell I don’t speak retard.

"Madriva was chosen solely because it is the prominent European Linux Company."

Its Mandriva and yes they are the #1 European GNU/linux company , sure it helped , but thats not the only factor
I am sure in the end it whas a tight race between Debian , Ubuntu and Mandriva and Mandriva won out.

"Why else would they chose a company that just came out of bankruptcy"

Mandriva never whas in Bankrupty or in Bankrupty protection , they where in "cessation des paiements." , its 3 step above bankrupty protection and 4 above bankrupty.

"and is still trying to get it together"

Like I said before its not because a clueless make some baseless observation that its going to be a reality , Mandriva is the only Big 3 , that as not dropped support on the GNU/Linux desktop , SUSE made Open Suse and Red hat Fedora. They only concentrate and invest on Corporate offers.

"especially when there are Linux companies much better equipped to develop this type of solution most notably RedHat and Suse."

The reality is that SUSE dont exist anymore its a portfolio of novell , Novell whas a contender but whas rejected for some reasons , probably cost and no real community. Red Hat dont have a desktop solution for everyone so they are out.

"Nothing wrong with keeping business local"

Actually , yes its called protectionism , and last I looked the EU ( European Union ) is 25 country , I am sure there where real reason given not to take Red Hat or Novell other the territorial as Novell and Red Hat have more employee globally in the EU then Mandriva does.

"don’t try and tell me that Mandriva was the best choice "

I am not trying , thats exactly what I am doing. But your too much in your bubble to face reality.

"because its somehow different then other major Linux companies. "

Lets see , It as a real community , as been Openly developped for years Fedora and Open Suse are really new at this , they dont drop general customer because they have to invest in it , They have a general desktop offers ( KDE , GNOME , XFCE , etc .. ) targeted for everyone. It as a Club. Etc ... Etc ... Etc ...

"Was that an insult?"

No. Its what grown up do , face there responsabilities and the consequence of there words. If you see it as an insult its because you know its right.

"or attempt at one?"

No see above.

"I can't tell I don’t speak retard."

Its english , Its clear you dont understand it or whant to.

I will respectfully disagree we have seen this behavior before from the Euros’ when Munich and other European cities chose European companies for solutions despite superior software solutions available outside of the EU.

They came out of bankruptcy quite some time ago, and have been turning in a profit (which enabled them to buy out Connectiva), so they are "getting it together."

This adult here thinks your europhobia is clouding your judgement.
