Running the alt OS

I do the partitioning method for the reasons listed:
Pros:
- OSes run full speed
- Full access to the hardware


Being the average computer geek without the high end hardware I like to get as much speed as possible out of the system so I can see what the OS is capable of. That is my preferred method, but if I don't want to reformat a partition for a specialized OS I'll download the live cd iso and then run it in qemu. Or see if they have a vmware image.
