I can 100% speak to this article on why Linux has failed me as a newbie.
1) Some of my hardware doesn't funtion properly and requires me to type all kinds of commands and twittle with various settings just to get it work.
2) When I install an app it doesn't place itself in the start menu requiring me to search for it or type the name in the console. And there's no uninstaller! (don't know if this has changed).
3) Linux crashes and hard locks on me with every distro I have have used since 1998 on different computers, some less than others. This is with fresh installs without configuring anything and doing simple things like typing a text.
No, I'm not kidding about about this every 6 months or so I always give Linux another shot but the same issues exist. I guess Linux doesn't like me but I will not give up on it. In fact, when support ends for XP I'm going to try my best to make Linux my main rig.
