Linspire Kevin Carmony of Linspire/Freespire has announced that the first beta of Freespire has been released earlier than anticipated. Get it from the download page. According to Carmony, this release includes out-of-the-box support for proprietary formats such as .mp3 and WMV, plug-and-play support for Ati and nVIDIA cards without user intervention, Click-N-Run, and much more.

There plenty of choice. All looks the same doesnt it. That is the proprietary way of offering choice. ;) But YOU are welcome to that type choice. I am not knocking that, can I get the same courtesy for wanting my free?

I am not knocking anything. I am saying that until I see the "free" version the I have trouble believing that linspire is trying to be different. Until they show me something different then I cannot imagine they are different. So far the only ONLY thing they have changed really is the graphics, partitioner, and the name (again). They have a "hybrid os" it is called linspire, whats the point in yet another "hybrid os" so the big difference will appear when they have a truly free distro until then everyone could of just stayed over at linspire, they could of gave out a coupon code, and threw up a wiki. ;)
