Can Ubuntu play mp3 files out of the box? No.
Can Zeta play mp3 files out of the box? Yes.

Also, the desktop is different, you can't get it like that in Ubuntu without a LOT of customization, I don't know if it's even possible.

And it doesn't use X11, which is actually quite visible. Zeta does update the screen faster.

Can Zeta play mp3 files out of the box? Yes.

Can I get Ubuntu for free and have it installed and playing DVD's and MP3's faster then I can get Zeta after paying for it? Heck Yea

Can I get the new Zeta, download it, install it and play MP3's? Heck no.

All that and for free. Actually I can get Windows XP legal for less then Zeta.

Remember you can't play MP3's out the box on Ubuntu for one because Ubuntu does not come in a "box" and because it's free they can't include it (Legally) LOL!

Don't go there, as it's a lost battle. There are too many things that Ubuntu can do and Zeta can't, like printing from Firefox, Flash, Java, ACPI and MS Word/Excel compatibility, just to name a few. Plus Ubuntu is free.
